What began as a homesick craving for East Coast-style Italian subs turned into years of popups with lines around the block. Now, Hero has a home of its own, serving stacked hot and cold sandos, coffee, and cannoli to our community 🌹

The Pantry

Bring a little slice of Italy home with you! We carry a curated selection of imported tinned tomatoes, sauces, dried pasta (in all the fun shapes), condiments, and cheeses. Swing by for a sando and grab everything you need for dinner while you’re here. 🍝

FAQs

  • The short answer is that we make good sandwiches that sell out quickly and you’re likely just not getting here early enough. The long answer: we make anywhere between 160 to 210 sandwiches a day (depending on the day—weekends are our busiest days). Our hero and panino buns are baked fresh and delivered to us daily. So once we sell out buns, we’re not able to make any more sandwiches. Come early, and you’ll get a sandwich. If you snoozie, you will probably loozie. But we’re open 5 days a week so there’s lots of opportunities to get your hands on a hero! And once sandwiches sell out, we remain open until close (3 p.m.) with coffee and cannoli.

  • Some days we sell out by 1 p.m., other days it’s 2:30. Checking our Instagram stories is the quickest and easiest way to find out if we still have sandwiches left. We do our best to update our stories in real time as soon as we sell out.

  • It’s simple, really. We make three types of sandwiches: our heros (our most popular offering), panini (cold sandwiches on ciabatta), and melts (toasted panini). Our melts are available as soon as we open at 9 a.m. and make a tasty breakfast on the go. We also have coffee and cannoli from open. Our cold sandwiches (the heros and panini) are available at 10:30 a.m. Heros are stacked with 160 grams of thinly-sliced Italian deli meat and we slice everything fresh same day. All of this slicing takes time, which is why these sandwiches are available a bit later in the morning.

  • We have yet to find a GF bun we think is good enough for our sandwiches (and our customers), so this isn’t something we currently offer.

  • Our Artichoke Pesto Melt (#13) is our current vegetarion option.

    We don’t offer a vegan sandwich option at this time.

  • The only way to get your hands on a sandwich is to come down to the shop and place an order in person. We aren’t on any delivery apps and don’t accept orders via email or telephone.

  • We don't currently, but it is something we would like to offer in the new year once we’re feeling a bit more settled and have additional staff to help us fulfill catering orders.

  • We are fully wheelchair accessible, including a ramp leading to the bathroom, so everyone can come in and enjoy their visit comfortably.
